SPACe

The Scottish Public Sector Analytical Collaborative (SPACe) brings together the Scottish Government, Public Health Scotland, National Records of Scotland and Registers of Scotland in a programme to advance data analytics for the public sector.

Through a programme of broad collaboration SPACe seeks to improve  delivery of public services in Scotland through better use of data and analytics. Examples of SPACe's broad programme of collaboration include:

  • the use of machine learning techniques to determine whether satellite information could be used to improve agricultural statistics
  • the extraction of information from historical images to generate valuable information on the built environment at that time
  • work with the Care Inspectorate on the use of algorithms to identify poor quality care at an early stage.

EIDF works closely with SPACe to develop and host rich analytical environments for Scottish Government analysts.
