Power Her Up
This new, four week programme is designed to empower student entrepreneurs to succeed by understanding gender disparities.
Unfortunately you have missed the deadline for this programme. We'll run another support programme next semester but with a different theme. For semester 2 we are looking at a support programme for all PhD students. If this sounds of interest to you sign-up here to receive an email when this is open for applications.
We want to encourage and support more female founders at the University of Edinburgh.
This four week programme is designed to equip female entrepreneurs with empowering strategies to overcome any challengers they may face as a woman in business. These challenges consist of a lack of networks and mentors, gender inequality, a lack of confidence, hesitance to negotiate, limited funding and more.
The programme consists of three parts:
- Peer to peer sessions focused around starting conversations and peer support
- 1 -2- 1 coaching to overcome personal challenges and limitations
- Workshops consisting of a variety of speakers who are experts in their field or female entrepreneurs themselves
By attending this programme the entrepreneurs will be equipped with the skills to handle difficult situations with confidence, they will have enough knowledge to share and support other female entrepreneurs, they will understand the landscape and key facts and figures for women in business, they will be able to overcome any limitations with confidence, and they will be able to accelerate their growth.
Other topics cover include:
- Practise professional resilience
- Listen to insightful TedTalks
- Access to tailored online resources
For all students and recent graduates (within the last two years) who identify as female from the University of Edinburgh.
