Rapid Response - an EPSRC IAA-funded initiative

Rapid Response is an Edinburgh Innovations initiative funded by EPSRC IAA providing quick-turnaround opportunities for research staff to collaborate with businesses and other organisations in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and help them adapt and build resilience for survival and future growth.

Rapid Response presents opportunities to showcase expertise, understand current commercial needs, engage with partner organisations and increase the impact of your research.

Rapid Response: Explore- a series of webinars

Aimed at industry, the Explore series of webinars has been launched to provide a platform for organisations to hear from leading researchers at the University. Themes will cover Advanced Manufacturing, Fintech and Bio-Solutions.

If you would like to be considered as a speaker for the series, please contact the Programmes Team:

Rapid Response: Workshops

Our online workshops offer an opportunity for researchers to directly address challenges facing private and public-sector organisations.

External partners are invited to register challenges they face in maintaining and growing their operations during and after the Covid-19 pandemic. We will then reach out to researchers who have specialist expertise in the relevant fields.

The online workshops will be facilitated by Edinburgh Innovations for both sides to discuss the challenges and explore pathways to solutions, including identifying next steps and funding streams. Opportunities for academic staff will be guided by industry challenges submitted over the coming weeks.

You can register your interest for relevant challenges as and when they are submitted here on the BOX.

Rapid Response: Funding

As part of the Explore series of webinars, limited EPSRC IAA funds are available to support feasibility studies arising from the webinars in order to progress these into larger projects. For further information, please visit EPSRC IAA Explore Seed Funding page

The Rapid Response initiative forms only part of a range of funding streams which have been repurposed to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic, with more than 30 collaborative projects already under way. To explore other ways Edinburgh Innovations can help, please contact us
