Disclosure of inventions & discoveries

If you believe that your latest idea, discovery or invention has a practical application, EI's experienced business team can help you exploit commercially valuable research results.

Before you publish

While the University recognises the rights and benefits of publishing in academic literature, it is the policy of the University to promote the commercial exploitation of any intellectual property arising out of research undertaken here.

Invention disclosure process

EI has established a robust invention disclosure process to guide you through the various stages of exploiting the intellectual property (IP) arising from your research, from evaluation of a new discovery through to negotiating a licence agreement.

Inventor incentive scheme (secured)

The University operates a generous incentive/reward scheme to encourage early disclosure of ideas, inventions and discoveries and reward the inventor(s) for their commitment to the commercialisation process.
