Edinburgh Antimicrobial Resistance Research Strategy
In March 2017 Edinburgh Infectious Diseases hosted the Edinburgh Antimcirobial Research Symposium in the Playfair Library, Old College, University of Edinburgh.
This event launched the new strategy for AMR research in Edinburgh. It brought together nearly 200 researchers to hear about the groundbreaking AMR research already ongoing in Edinburgh, and to explore new avenues for future collaborations and programmes.
Prof Mark Woolhouse, the Edinburgh AMR Champion, gave the keynote lecture at the symposium documenting the rise of antimicrobial resistance as a global problem, and what actions must be taken to safeguard antibiotics for future generations.
