Abstract
In this talk I will introduce brain imaging research on music and emotion, which has mainly focused on neural correlates of individuals listening to music. Social factors, such as playing and listening to music together as group experiences, have received much attention in music and emotion research, however, its neural correlates are poorly understood. I will explore musical emotion in group experiences with neural hypotheses, and discuss potential implications of social and clinical functions of music.
