About this panel

Investigating the connections between music, health and wellbeing is a key area of research here at the University of Edinburgh, particularly through the work of the Institute for Music in Human and Social Development. In light of growing public interest in how music can improve wellbeing, this panel will discuss the available evidence for this, and the explanations that have been given for these impacts. The panel will also discuss contexts in which music, conversely, can have a detrimental effect on health and wellbeing.
