Abstract

In this lecture, Michele will review the basic techniques of digital sound synthesis, and primarily of physical modelling. During the first part of the lecture, a historical review will be offered, leading to the research carried out by the Acoustics and Audio Group at Reid School of Music. In the second part of the talk, Craig will showcase some real-time applications, developed from the original research carried out by the group. Examples will include plate and spring reverberation, as well as original software instruments.
