Tips for reflection

We have pulled together some links leading to more information about writing reflections.

Please follow the links below for helpful tips on writing reflections.

Structure helps

One possible way to help structure your reflections is to use the CARL framework (Context, Action, Result & Learning).

Focus on the process of learning

It is important within your reflections to focus on the process of learning, not just what you did.

Give a sense of progress and stay concise

Your reflection is a mini-story so give the reader a sense of the before, during and after.

Make sure it hangs together

Make sure that your conclusions regarding your development/learning directly relate to the experiences you describe.
