Year Abroad

You have an opportunity to spend your third year studying abroad, with a wide variety of destinations in all over the world to choose from.

Studying abroad during your undergraduate years can help you get a well-rounded educational experience:

  • Get a global perspective on your field of study: Experiencing education systems in different countries can provide a broader understanding of your subject. You may be exposed to different teaching styles and academic perspectives that can deepen your knowledge and critical thinking skills.

  • Intercultural Competence: Living and studying in another country allows you to immerse yourself in a new culture. This experience can help you develop sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to navigate diverse work environments in the future.

  • Expand your Professional Network: Studying abroad helps you to have a wider connection with peers, professors, and professionals from around the world, potentially opening doors to job opportunities.

  • Increased Independence and Self-Reliance: Living abroad often requires you to manage your own finances, housing, and daily needs in unfamiliar settings, which can significantly boost your self-sufficiency.

  • Enhance your language skills: If you are studying in a country where none of your native languages are spoken, you will have the opportunity to practice a new language in a natural setting.

The School of Economics approves a wide range of destinations and ensures that you will receive a similar level of education at the destinations by our Exchange Coordinators. The application process usually takes place at the start of second year. Students can spend one or two semesters at their chosen university.
