Registration

Registration procedures are now mostly handled via email and online. However, you can also complete your registration in person at Student Administration.

Your student card

The student card is issued by Information Services. Details on obtaining your first card and collection points can be found below:

Confirmation of attendance

Attendance at the induction session is used by the School as a method of recording your attendance. You do not need to meet with your Personal Tutor as part of the registration process.

Personal tutor and student support

You will be allocated to a Personal Tutor soon after the induction session. You will find out more about arranging a one to one meeting later in the month. At the Welcome Lecture, you will also meet the Postgraduate Office Team and they will tell you how they can help you during your studies.

Welcome Events

We will hold a welcome lecture for the programme on Monday 13th September. The Programme Director will cover important information about the programme. You will also find out about the role of Personal Tutor, and about arranging one to one meetings later in the month. The Postgraduate Team will explain their role and how they can help you during your studies.

This event will be held on campus but will also be streamed online, so it's important that you let us know how you plan to attend.

Please note this event iscompulsory for students joining the programme.

First day of classes

Teaching of the Mathematics, Statistics and Econometrics course will begin on Tuesday 14th of September.

Late arrival

Please note that the University expects all students to be in Edinburgh from the start of Week 1 (Monday 20th September).

If you are concerned that you may not arrive at campus on time, please contact Economics@ed.ac.uk to apply for late arrival.
