Findings from Covid-19 Research Available Online

Professor Ludo Visschers, along with co-authors Carlos Carrillo-Tudela (University of Essex) and Alex Clymo (University of Essex) have published their findings on the impact of Covid-19 on unemployment and earning inequality.

Their findings are from a joint study between the University of Essex and Edinburgh undertaken from 2020-2022, funded by the ESRC as part of the UK Research and Innovation’s rapid response to Covid-19. The results of the project have been published on an interactive website: https://covidjobsresearch.co.uk/

The website provides a snapshot into state of the UK labour market following the pandemic, as well as an interactive Labour Shortages calculator tool. Of the website, Alex Clymo of the University of Essex tweeted “It builds on our academic research, as well as policy work trying to understand what's going on with the UK labour market since COVID, and now with the energy crisis.”

Professor Ludo Visschers and Carlos Carrillo-Tudela have also recently had their paper “Unemployment and Endogenous Reallocation over the Business Cycle” published in Econometrica.
