Diego Battiston wins Distinguished CESifo Affiliated Award 2021

School of Economics lecturer, Diego Battiston, has been named the winner of the Distinguished CESifo Affiliated Award 2021 in the CESifo Network Area Economics of Digitization.

The School of Economics sends it's congratulations to Diego Battiston, who has been named the has been named the winner of the Distinguished CESifo Affiliated Award 2021 in the CESifo Network Area Economics of Digitization for his paper "The Persistent Effects of Brief Interactions: Evidence from Immigrant Ships".

The Distinguished CESifo Affiliate Award, aimed at encouraging talented young scholars, is awarded to the best paper presented by a young author at each of the CESifo Area conferences. Accepted candidates are invited to attend the Area Conference to which they have been nominated and present their paper where an award committee will judge the presentations and select a winner.

Diego joined the School of Economics as a lecturer and Assistant Professor in September 2020. His research interests lie in the areas of Labor Economics, Organisational Economics and Development Economics with a focus on Data Science and Machine Learning applications.
