School of Economics

Roderick Fleming

MA Economics and Accounting, 2002

Through various business dealings, some involving an aluminium smelting plant in Bosnia, I have amassed some wealth which I am currently using to turn round the fortunes of an Edinburgh football club you might know.

Only joking. I am actually training to be a Maths Teacher, and I am doing the PGDE program just now. This means I will start teaching in a school somewhere in Scotland in August 2006. Although this might not be using my economics directly that I learned at Edinburgh, I am using the basic maths upon which many of my courses were based.

I have chosen this choice of career due to the interactive nature and variety of the job, as compared with an internship I did in the City. I might go on to use some of my undergraduate and postgraduate skills (I did an MSc in Economics at LSE) in economics in the future, or may even just teach economics in schools. I will wait and see what comes up.

I welcome anyone getting in touch.
