Royal Highland Show
Each year staff and students from the Easter Bush Campus attend the Royal Highland Show to meet the public and talk with them about our work.
Easter Bush Campus has been attending the Highland Show for some eight years and, as well as providing veterinary care for horses and other farm animals competing at the Show, the Vet School has a joint stand in the exhibition area with colleagues from The Roslin Institute.
Typically our exhibition features one stall on veterinary clinical services, such as the Internal Medicine Service or Oncology and one highlighting the exciting scientific work taking place with The Roslin Institute. Activities are designed to educate and inform visitors about our work with staff present on the day to chat and answer questions.
Many future vets and scientists visit the stand to talk about their future careers, as well as alumni, our colleagues in practice and many members of the public.
The Royal Highland Show attracts around 200,000 visitors annually from across Scotland and much further afield and is a unique opportunity for us to engage with the public, share the activities we undertake on the Campus.
