For entry to Masters by Research, MPhil, or PhD, you should have a first degree in a relevant subject, showing academic training in the area of your research project. The standard should be a strong UK 2:1 honours degree (65% or above) or international equivalent. Relevant qualifications and experience will also be considered.
PhD applicants will also typically require a specialist postgraduate degree beyond their first degree, with a high level of attainment.
