Applying for taught programmes

  • Visit the Postgraduate Degree Finder , navigate to your chosen programme, click on Apply.
  • Follow the instructions in the online application system.

Applying for research programmes

  • We strongly encourage you to contact a potential supervisor to discuss your research project before you make a formal application, and you will be often asked to submit a draft research proposal.
  • Check you meet entry requirements.

References

  • For applications to taught programmes, the normal requirement is one reference, although an additional reference may be requested in individual cases.
  • For applications to research programmes, two references are required.

You should check the entry online for exact requirements for your intended programme of study.

Deadlines

You are encouraged to apply no later than one month prior to entry to ensure there is sufficient time to process your application.  However, earlier application is recommended, particularly where there is a high demand for places or when a visa will be required.  Should you wish to submit a late application, please contact us for guidance.

If you wish to be considered for a scholarship, it is important to apply for admission in good time. For PhD or MPhil, you should complete your application by 31 January, as funds are normally awarded by the end of February.  For Masters degrees (taught and research) you should complete your application by 31 March, as funds are normally awarded by the end of April.  It is also vital that you check Scholarships and Student Funding Services to ensure that you have made specific applications for all the awards for which you are eligible.
