Transferring or changing degree 

Information on how to change your degree programme if the track you are on is not right for you.

Schools in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (CAHSS) approve all degree programme transfers for students.

Students should contact the School into which they wish to transfer to discuss their request, but should note that transfers of degree programme are only permitted at the end of an academic year of study.

New First Year students, who want to transfer degree within the first two weeks, should contact the Admissions office.

How to transfer into a programme at the School of Divinity

Transfer requests into a programme at the School of Divinity are granted by the Director of Undergraduate Studies.

The deadline for submitting your request is 10 July 2020, which is a week after the publication of course results.

If you want to transfer within or into the School of Divinity, please send the following materials to Divinity Student Support:

  • The Degree Programme Transfer Application form (see below). Please read the guidance notes, before you submit the form.
  • A signed supporting statement from your personal tutor (by email or copied into the form on p4 in the box for “special circumstances”).

Transfer criteria

Students who wish to transfer into Year 2 or above of a degree programme must meet the criteria as set out in the Degree Programme Table for the degree they wish to join.

Concessions may be granted at the discretion of the Director of Undergraduate Studies, when they decide on the transfer request.

Please be aware that there is no guarantee that requests will be successful.
