Professor Lim delivers distinguished lecture in Jerusalem

Professor Timothy Lim will give a lecture on his current research, the Earliest Commentary on the Prophecy of Habakkuk, at the W. F. Albright Institute of Archaeological Research, Jerusalem, 25 October 2018.

Speaking as Gitin Distinguished Professor, Professor Lim will talk about new series, The Oxford Commentary on the Dead Sea Scrolls, his experience in writing the volume on the Habakkuk Pesher.  He will also discuss a by-product of this research, on the topic of divine names.

Professor Vered Noam (Tel Aviv University) will offer a response.

Profile

Professor Lim Timothy joined the University of Edinburgh in 1994 as Lecturer in Dead Sea Scrolls and Christian Origins. He became Reader in Hebrew and Old Testament Studies in 1998 and has been Professor of Hebrew Bible & Second Temple Judaism since 2005.

Qumran Caves
