Bicket’s book shortlisted
Dr Linden Bicket's book, George Mackay Brown and the Scottish Catholic Imagination, is one of three chosen by the Ecclesiastical History Society.
The book explores the Scottish Catholic modernist movement of the 20th century and the particularities of Brown's writing which have been overlooked by previous studies.
George Mackay Brown and the Scottish Catholic Imagination was published by Edinburgh University Press, July 2017.
Announcing the news on its website, the Ecclesiastical History Society (EHS) said:
“We are pleased to announce that three books have been shortlisted for the inaugural EHS Book Prize: Linden Bicket's George Mackay Brown and the Scottish Catholic Imagination (Edinburgh UP); William H. Campbell, The Landscape of Pastoral Care in 13th-Century England (CUP); and Michelle Armstrong-Partida, Defiant Priests: domestic unions, violence and clerical masculinity in fourteenth-century Catalunya (Cornell UP).”
The winner will be announced 12 January 2019.
