Alumnus David Nussbaum becomes CEO of The Elders Foundation

Our alumnus David Nussbaum has become the CEO of The Elders Foundation, a worldwide association of global leaders.

The Elders are independent global leaders who offer their collective influence and experience to support peace building, help address major causes of human suffering and promote the shared interests of humanity.

David will take up his appointment in October and will be managing the London-based Secretariat.

A few years ago David told us:

My experience at New College was part of what trained me to think. My dissertation was on 'Augustine Scripture and Power' and I have been thinking about how people use and think about power ever since.

In a statement for The Elders Foundation he said:

“It is with absolute delight that I look forward to joining The Elders. I’ve followed the lives of a number of them with admiration for many years, and it’s a wonderful opportunity to have the chance to support them directly in their work. In today’s global society – with so many complex challenges – I’m convinced that the role the Elders can play is increasingly both relevant and needed. I will be working with the Elders and the Secretariat team as we continue to build upon past interventions to make a positive difference to the future of our shared world.”
