The MSc Philosophy, Science and Religion is a fully online MSc programme offered jointly by the School of Divinity and the Department of Philosophy (School of School of Philosophy, Psychology & Language Sciences).

This innovative online programme allows you to study for a postgraduate degree at one of the world’s most prestigious universities, at a pace that suits you and fits around your ongoing work and personal commitments. 

The programme includes a focus on scientific developments in areas such as quantum mechanics, evolutionary biology, and neuroscience; fundamental theological issues such as creation, evil, divine action, and the soul; and the philosophical analytical tools needed to understand the relationship between them. 

The programme is a unique interdisciplinary collaboration, bringing together world leaders in the fields of philosophy, science, and the science & religion field.

Related short course

We offer a short free Massive Open Online Learning Course (MOOC) in Philosophy, Science and Religion, which allows you to explore the relationship between science and religion, with a focus on philosophical approaches. The course is delivered online through Coursera, so you can progress at your own pace. It is open to all, and no formal qualifications are required to enrol.
