Research
Using sensory information about the world around us, we form maps of our spatial environment in order to navigate and remember contexts and locations. I am investigating how the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex contribute to this process, and how they may be affected in neurodevelopmental disorders. I am studying this in mice and rats, and also in a rat model of Fragile X Syndrome, the most common form of inherited learning disability, using in vivo electrophysiological recordings in the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex, while the animals perform various behavioural tasks.
