The degree leads to a qualification in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy.

Dental Hygienists and Dental Therapists are an integral part of the dental team, and belong to the generic group of individuals known as Dental Care Professionals.

Oral Health Science combines the application of dental science with the opportunity to make a major contribution to the prevention and treatment of oral disease, and the maintenance of oral health for all members of the population.

This degree is geared towards those individuals who not only want to undertake clinical dentistry, but who may also wish to enter an academic environment and become for example, teachers or researchers in their field.
