Lucy is a Lecturer for the BSc(Hons) Oral Health Science degree progamme and Personal Tutor for the course.


Lucy is a lecturer and dually qualified Dental Hygienist-Therapist with 4 years experience in the clinical field. During her career Lucy has worked for various Public Dental Services in the central belt of Scotland. Post graduation Lucy completed a Vocational Traineeship with NHS Fife and has since completed Inhalation Sedation training. Lucy started lectuing in September 2016 for BSc Oral Health Sciences (Hons) at the University of Edinburgh. She is currently working towards her Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) at the University of Edinburgh.

Research interests

Lucy has a keen interest in dental anxiety management and management of paediatric patients which lead her to Inhalation Sedation training. Lucy has been involved in the set up of protocol for referral to Hygienist and Therapists with the Public Dental Service in Lothian.

Awards and memberships

Lucy was awarded best overall student in 2009 as an undergraduate student at the University of Dundee. Lucy is a member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene & Therapy.
