Background

Liz has had a varied career, before moving to Scotland where she completed her Oral Health Science degree at the University of Dundee.

She has worked as a Dental Therapist in private and NHS practices, Fife Community Dental Service and at Dundee Dental Hospital where she also lectured and supervised on the BSc Oral Health Science degree course before she came to Edinburgh. 

Liz has a keen interest in Paediatric dentistry and was the lead examiner for the Diploma in Paediatric Dentistry for Dental Therapists (RCSEd) and is currently an external examiner for the University of Birmingham BSc Dental Hygiene and Therapy degree.

Awards and Interests

Liz won the award for Best Clinical Student prize in her final year at the University of Dundee and won the Wrigley’s Student Research competition with a project called “How Dietary Advice Impacts on Systemic Health” and presented her research at the British Dental Associations Annual Conference.

In 2018, Liz successfully gained her Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice from the University of Edinburgh.
