Advice and Help for International Students.
The Student Immigration Service provides essential and helpful information on visas for any international student studying at the University especially if you are bringing members of your family along for the adventure.
Our local Administrators, Jackie McGurk (PhD) and Anna Atluri and Vasiliki Pothitou (DClinDent programmes) are always happy to help with advice on local matters
Visa Advice and Appointments during peak period
The University of Edinburgh offers an Advice clinic for any problems with Student Visas. The peak visa application period runs from September to January. We will try to assist as many students as we possibly can however, there is a limit to the number of appointments we have available. Therefore during this time, we prioritise appointment availability according to your visa expiry date.
If you have a general immigration question, as opposed to needing an appointment to hand in a completed visa application, visit the Student Immigration Service contact page.
Other immigration matters
The Student Immigration Service offers general advice and information about a range of other immigration matters including:
- Consequences of changes to your circumstances or studies
- Working during and after studies
- Lost passport/visa/Biometric Residence Permit
- Visa refusals
If you have a query, please visit the Student Immigration Service contact page.
