Educational aims of the programme

Postgraduate students at the Edinburgh Dental Institute will develop skills appropriate for the discipline of Orthodontics through clinical work, course work, lectures, seminars and tutorials, practical classes, research and report writing. Their knowledge and skills will be built on those obtained during undergraduate education and training. This will extend the postgraduate students such that their additional knowledge and understanding will enable them to follow a career in the discipline. They will demonstrate an understanding of their need for continuing professional development and will know how to access such education. This may be their own continued scholarship, or an involvement in teaching or research.
