Alex Keightley is a member of the NHS Consultant team in the Paediatric Department, and is also Honoroary Senior Clinical Lecturer.

Background

Alex graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2006.  After initial training jobs, he returned to Glasgow in 2009 to undertake specialist training in Paediatric Dentistry.  During this training he also completed an Masters by Research on the application of quality improvement methodologies in a dental hosptial setting.  Following completion of specialist training, he moved to the University of Dundee in 2012.  Initially this was a the clincial research fellow on the UK wide FiCTION trial on the management of decayed primary teeth in general practice, along with consultant level training.  In 2014 he was appointed to Clinical Lectuter in Paediatric Dentistry in the University of Dundee, and at the end of 2015 he successfully completed consultant level training.  In June 2016 he joined NHS Lothian as Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry.
