Stuart Campbell, 3rd Year Prosthodontics Student, has been awarded the Nairn Wilson Medal for Clinical and Academic Excellence in 2016.  Nairn Wilson, who is an alumnus of the University, recently established a prize fund to support the award of a medal to the student who performs best in their MClinDent programme across both academic years and between the four programmes of study, Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Paediatric Dentistry and Prosthodontics in Edinburgh dental Institute.

We are honoured that Professor Nairn H F Wilson will attend this year's Graduation Ceremony on Tuesday 29th November and see Stuart receive his medal.

Professor Wilson is an Edinburgh alumnus who was subsequently Dean of the Dental Schools in Manchester and at King's College London, Dean of the Dental Faculty at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh and President of the General Dental Council.  He is now retired.

On hearing about the award Stuart responded:

I am truly honoured to be receiving such a prestigious award. However, this could not have been achieved without the help of others. I am very fortunate to be part of an institute which places great importance on excellence in dental education, and feel fully supported enabling me to achieve this medal
