Many congratulations to the EDI staff members who were shortlisted for the new CMVM Recognition Awards 2021.

In 1878 the Dispensary and the Scottish Dental Education Committee co-operated to found the Dental Hospital and School.

One of our postgraduate students, Catrinel Gheorghiu, has been elected at the Edinburgh University Students’ Association (EUSA) as the Representative for the Postgraduate students in the Deanery of Clinical Sciences, for the academic year 2019/20.

Now in its tenth year, this 3-day course teaches participants how to adapt standard edgewise technique to contemporary fixed appliance treatment.

Enhance your skills with our newly updated online programme in Restorative Dentistry.

The aim of this course is to develop surgical skills and deeper understanding in the manipulation of intra oral soft tissues; including the indications and principles for deepening of the vestibule. The course will also cover the extraction of a tooth followed by socket preservation and soft tissue augmentation with connective tissue grafts alongside the latest biomaterials.

Amy and Scott Tulloch met while studying at the Edinburgh Dental Institute. They now provide dental care for the majority of the population in Orkney, being committed to patient care in rural communities.

June and July have been a busy time for our MSc Primary Dental Care students

Senior Lecturer for Dental Care Professionals and Programme Director of the BSc (Hons) in Oral Health Sciences, University of Edinburgh.

Two of our Lecturers on the BSc in Oral Health Sciences were nominated in the University wide Teaching Awards. Lucy Sheerins was nominated for the Best Feedback Award and Liz Conner was nominated as one of the Best Personal Tutors in the institution.

Professor Angus walls has been elected as the 94th President of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR).
