Initial contact

We will offer you an assessment appointment that will take place at a time when you indicated you are available.

What happens?

We will email you to let you know the time when one of our counsellors will contact you.   Emails will be sent to your University email account or an alternative email account if requested.

Next Steps

At the end of the assessment appointment,  you and your counsellor will decide what the best steps are.  Normally one or more of the following:

  • reccomendations for self help
  • a referral to another University service
  • a referral to an external service
  • short term counselling with the Staff Counselling Service.  Information on the waiting time for counselling can be found here.
