Making an appointment

The Staff Counselling Service is continuing to operate a service during the Coronavirus pandemic. We are doing this in line with University and Government guidelines and in the interests of your health and safety. We are currently offering services in person, by video via Microsoft Teams, and by telephone.

We now offer video appointments on Microsoft Teams. This is an option that we may offer at your assessment. We have set out a list of FAQs to help with any queries you may have.

Issues that staff bring to counselling

Staff approach our Service with a wide range of issues (not all work related) and we can respond sensitively to a diverse range of concerns people may have.

Initial contact

We will offer you an assessment appointment that will take place at a time when you indicated you are available.

Waiting times

Waiting times for counselling change throughout the year.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel an appointment please email us giving us at least 48 hours notice.

Evaluation

We welcome feedback from staff who use our Service.

Employee Assistance Programme EAP

The University is currently working in partnership with MCL Medics to offer counselling appointments to our staff, through the introduction of the Employee Assistance Programme.
