Easter Bush Pathology

Training for existing and new veterinary pathologists is carried out by Easter Bush Pathology.

Facilities

Easter Bush Pathology laboratories, which were built in 2011, represents a collective of veterinary pathologists, microbiologists, residents and scientific staff who provide pathology services and support to internal and external veterinary clinics and researchers. It is accredited by the ECVP and ECVCP for resident training.

Our main remits are veterinary diagnostics, teaching, training and research.

Our diagnostic work encompasses a necropsy, surgical biopsy and clinical pathology service and this material is used in the teaching and training of our undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Our research activities are diverse and while we have our own self-driven projects, we are keen to collaborate with clinicians (veterinary and medical) and research scientists, both within and beyond the University.

We have an excellent support team of technicians in the Histopathology, Clinical Pathology and Microbiology laboratories with experience in working with diagnostic and research samples and developing new techniques.

We have a high quality environment including:

  • Necropsy facilities with high risk room.
  • Clinical pathology laboratory (haematology, biochemistry, cytology).
  • Histopathology laboratory with range of immunohistochemical antibodies.
  • Microbiology laboratory.
  • Access to state-of-the-art research facilities.
  • A collegiate environment.
