Our Department offers a number of short, academic credit-bearing courses to help you meet your professional development commitments.

Academic credit-bearing and can be used as credit towards a Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma or Masters degree

You have full access to the University of Edinburgh library including physical and electronic resources

Participants must fulfil University of Edinburgh postgraduate entrance requirements including:

  • English language requirements
  • Evidence of recent academic achievement

Participation requirements:

  • Active participation each week of the course
  • Active contribution to assessed online discussion and activities as required
  • Successful completion of summative assessed tasks which may include written assignments, case studies, literature reviews and/or group assignments

On successful completion of the course, including assessed assignments, receive:

  • ‘Certificate of Participation’ which details the number of notional CPD hours
  • Academic transcript from the University of Edinburgh
