Prior learning experience

The full MSc is aligned with those committed to a career in Paediatric Emergency Medicine, and would provide recognition that a high level of education has been achieved in this, something which is not otherwise available at the present time.

You would normally be involved in paediatrics, paediatric intensive care, emergency medicine, anaesthesia, paediatric surgery or primary care/general practice, particularly when considering the acute and urgent care of ill and injured children. This does not preclude those in other medical specialties from applying but prior discussion with the programme director.

Some relevant on-going clinical experience involving ill and injured children is essential, as course work will involve reflection on past or present management of paediatric cases. If you are uncertain about your level of clinical exposure, the programme director are happy to discuss this and can be contacted via the programme administrator.
