MSc by Research Regenerative Medicine and Tissue Repair

Journal clubs

Students can attend weekly journal clubs covering a range of relevant biomedical topics.

The Centre for Regenerative Medicine runs a weekly journal club which is open to all students and researchers at the centre.

Format

During the CRM journal clubs PhD students and postdoctoral researchers present scientific papers that cover a variety of areas relating to regenerative medicine, including developmental biology, pluripotent and tissue stem cell biology, degeneration and regeneration of adult tissues, genetic engineering and bioinformatics.

CRM science retreat presentation

The journal clubs are currently structured around four themes:

  • Blood
  • Liver
  • Neurobiology
  • Stem cells & development

Learning outcomes

The clubs are an excellent introduction to critical review, presentation and discussion of scientific papers.

Through in-depth discussion of research papers on a range of biomedical topics you will widen your scientific knowledge.

The journal clubs provide a valuable opportunity to learn more about certain scientific areas, model systems or methodologies that are new to you or that you wish to explore in more detail.
