Technical requirements

Studying online requires that you have a broadband connection and an up-to-date computer that can stream video.

Web browsers

We recommend using a web browser such as:

• Mozilla Firefox
• Google Chrome

Headset and microphone

Make sure your computer has a headset with a microphone. If it's a laptop check it has  a built in microphone. This will allow you to participate in live seminars.

Remember that all live seminars will be recorded for you to watch later if you can’t attend.

Mobile devices

You will also be able to join the live seminars on mobile devices. You will be able to use dedicated applications, so even when you’re on the go, you can still take part in the discussion.

Microsoft Office 365

You have access to a license for Microsoft Office 365 once you enrol as a student of the University of Edinburgh.

Office365 provides software to help you in your studies such as:

• Word
• Excel
• Powerpoint
• Outlook
