Why study with us?

We have developed this innovative online programme in partnership with the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. This is a collaboration based on centuries of medical research and teaching.

The online programme draws on this extensive experience and targets:

  • doctors

  • nurses

  • paramedics

  • allied health professionals (for example, dietitians and physiotherapists)

What the programme covers

The programme delivers expert learning both in clinical reasoning and academic practice.

We cover a variety of clinical situations in the programme:

The programme builds on our particular strengths of clinical care including:

As a student, you will also become equipped with the skills to access and appraise the biomedical literature. This will allow you to actively participate in clinical discussions and develop as an independent and critical thinker. You will be able to appraise primary and secondary research, and incorporate it into your personal practice.

Flexibility

The programme allows you to study 100% of the programme online at times that suit you. You can study for 15–20 hours per week, enabling you to balance study with work and family commitments.

Innovative learning

You will learn using online resources and collaborate with students using online forums.

Additionally, we have developed an innovative virtual intensive care unit. This allows you to view a 360-degree tour of a critical care ward.
