Cardiovascular imaging is an elective course in the Edinburgh Imaging Academy’s post-graduate Imaging Masters / Diploma / Certificate programme. It can also be taken not-for-credit as CPD / CME.

Our online Cardiovascular imaging (CVAS) course teaches practical chest / thoracic imaging, including techniques best for evaluating chest anatomy, and best for investigating major chest diseases: lungs and heart are the main focus.

Research / experimental imaging of cardiac function and the vasculature are also covered, reflecting activity at the Edinburgh Imaging Facilities.

  • Who is the CVAS course aimed at?

    • This course is aimed at any health professional wishing to gain further knowledge about heart and blood vessel diseases. It may even be appropriate for people seeking to increase their knowledge in the field of biological sciences.

 

  • What can you learn in the CVAS course?

    • The course will go into detail about the possible imaging methods applied to diagnose cardiovascular diseases. This will include a wide range of applications and indications, including both the heart, the pulmonary arteries, the coronary arteries and the peripheral arterial and venous systems.

    • The course is nicely placed in terms of reasonably focused topics, which are ideal for online learning. The course has multiple lectures and also gives advice for further reading.
