JOB DESCRIPTION
-
Purpose:
- Conduct original research, centred around recently developed computational methods
- Measure perivascular spaces, a potential biomarker of future dementia risk, visible on brain magnetic resonance (MR) imaging
- Target patients at risk of small vessel disease (SVD), dementia, stroke & other forms of neurodegeneration
- Methods:
- Test & improve computational methods (including machine learning approaches) for measuring perivascular spaces on brain MR in people
- Discover associations between perivascular space morphologies & current cognitive / functional status as well as future cognitive & functional declines using data from studies in different patient groups
