Professor van Beek made a Fellow of the ISMRM on 13 May 2019.
Professor Edwin van Beek is the SINAPSE Chair of Clinical Radiology at the University of Edinburgh and the Director of Edinburgh Imaging Facility QMRI, has been made a Fellow of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine. He was presented with his award at the 28th Annual Meeting of the ISMRM in Montreal in May 2019.
This prestigious international award, is in recognition of Edwin’s significant and substantial contributions in the field of pulmonary and cardiovascular imaging over the last 30 years. He has also served the society through various roles in committees and the editorial board of the Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
The International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) is an international, non-profit, scientific association whose purpose is to promote communication, research, development, and applications in the field of magnetic resonance in medicine and biology and other related topics and to develop and provide channels and facilities for continuing education in the field. Its multidisciplinary membership of over 6,000 consists of clinicians, physicists, engineers, biochemists, and technologists.
