Overview
This course is divided into didactic & assessment components:
- The didactic component focuses mainly on six lectures spread across two modules
- Assessments are divided into
- multiple choice questions (MCQs)
- a practice assessment of IOFB orbital radiograph interpretation
- an exit assessment of IOFB orbital radiograph interpretation
Modules
The course includes two online modules:

Documents which have been used in NHS Lothian & the University of Edinburgh to establish the enhanced MR radiographer role locally, can be downloaded so that delegates have a framework on which to build similar policies & protocals local to them.

- Pro-forma for local use to document radiographer post-course reporting & review by radiologist
- University of Edinburgh CPD certificate, also documenting endorsement by the Irish Institute of Radiography & Radiation Therapy
Assessments
- Multpile choice questions (MCQs)
- assess lecture learning objectives
- all must be answered correctly before advancing to IOFB orbital radiograph interpretation assessments
- Practice assessment of IOFB orbital radiograph interpretation [at least 50 scans]
- go through as many times as you want
- become familiar with types of questions, cases, the online environment & grading / marking rubric
- scans are delivered in batches of 10
- Exit assessment of IOFB orbital radiograph interpretation [at least 50 scans]
- only one chance to complete
- failure requires re-starting the whole course & paying the fee again
- use the practice assessment to prepare & become familiar with types of questions, cases, the online environment & grading / marking rubric
- scans are delivered in batches of 10
Time
We recommend you allow the following amounts of time to complete this course:
- 4 hours for lectures, including content review, reflection & readings
- 4 hours for MCQ self-assessments, including review & readings around incorrect responses & re-taking of assessments
- 5 hours for the practice online assessment, to make sure you are familiar with the types of questions, cases, the online environment & grading / marking rubric
- 2.5 hours for the final exit assessment in which you have up to 30 minutes to complete each batch of 10 cases
You can divided up the time you devote to this course, into manageable shorter batches around work & personal life, spread over days & weeks.
