Tom Philps Prize
The Tom Philp prize is awarded annually to the best presentation at the ERS audit & research evening.

Background
Thomas Philp, born 19th April 1923, was a consultant radiologist at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh from 1956 to 1986.
He served in the Royal Army Medical Corps in West Africa & India reaching the rank of major whilst there.
At the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Dr Philp was appointed registrar in 1951, senior registrar in 1952 & then senior hospital medical officer in 1953. Between the years of 1978 & 1986, Dr Philp worked as a senior consultant in administrative charge of radiological services.
