After completing my BSc (Honours) in Nursing at Queen Margaret University in 2004 I worked in the acute hospital environment for a few years before moving to Critical Care in 2007. During the seven years I spent as a nurse in intensive care I was a member of 205 Filed Hospital Army Reserve Unit and deployed to Afghanistan in 2010 and 2012 to work as an Intensive Care nurse in Camp Bastion Field Hospital. I also completed the Foundations in Critical Care and Clinical Decision Making courses during my time working in Intensive Care.
I moved to research in 2014 to work as a research nurse at the Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility, there I was involved in numerous studies covering a range of specialities. I am now pleased to combine my background in intensive care nursing and my research experience to join the Critical Care Research Team to help improve patient care.
