Affiliations and collaborations

We are affiliated to EU-wide consortia and regularly invited to teach internationally.

We have attracted postgraduate students from across the world, including Europe, South America and the Middle East, studying at both masters and doctoral levels through research at the Sleep Research Unit. We also teach undergraduates at the University.

We are regularly invited to teach on national and international courses run by a variety of organisations including the European Sleep Research Society (ESRS), the European Respiratory Society (ERS), British Thoracic Society (BTS), British Sleep Society (BSS) and Sleep Scotland.

Having participated in the COST B26 programme from 2005 to 2010, we remain core members of ESADA (European Sleep Apnoea Database), a pan-European consortium for investigating obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome.

We are also members of the EU-Narcolepsy Network - a joint pan-European group for studying narcolepsy.

Our annual week-long Edinburgh Sleep Medicine Course attracts delegates from around the world and is always over-subscribed.
