 Dr Ying Wang - The Second Hospital of Kunming Medical University (China)

My Chinese name is Ying Wang, you can also call me Pauline. I am an attending doctor from the Neurology Department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University. I went to Centre for Clinical Brain Science of the University of Edinburgh as a visiting scholar to study, with funding from the China Scholarship Council, in March 2019. My supervisor is Professor Joanna Wardlaw. I participated in the project “ Edinburgh Transient Neurological Attack (ETNA) “ under the guidance of Professor Joanna Wardlaw and Professor William Whitely. In this project, I  was mainly responsible for reading the imaging of the enrolled patients’ MRI scan. During this period, I acquired a greater depth of understanding about qualitative and quantitative analysis imaging features of Small Vessel Disease (SVD). It is a good foundation and beginning for returning to China to do some research on SVD in the Chinese population. During the one-year, I am deeply in love with the city of Edinburgh. I will apply for the relevant funds again when it is appropriate. I hope I can return to Edinburgh one day.
