Support our Centre with your donations.

This year, our Research Officer Agnieszka will take up a challenge of walking a distance over 20 miles (35 km), as part of Scotland's Virtual Kiltwalk. She aims to raise funds for SVD Research and the Row Fogo Centre for Research into Ageing and the Brain.

Agnieszka has decided to take part in this event to celebrate having lived in Scotland for 17 years.

She has chosen The Row Fogo Centre for Research into Ageing and the Brain as her charity, because  of the importance of the research that is carried out in the Centre:

At the Row Fogo Centre, our scientists put great effort into developing the most efficient diagnostic tools and treatment methods for small vessel disease, which has been found to be one of the key underlying causes of stroke, dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

Having worked at the Row Fogo Centre for Research into Ageing and the Brain for almost two years, I cannot help but notice the importance of research in the small vessel disease field. The research discoveries done in our Centre have received numerous awards and recognitions from international scientific bodies, and have had a tremendous impact on people's lives.

I would like to hope that in the not too distant future not only my loved ones, but everyone, will have access to have best diagnostic methods and treatments in such diseases.

Scotland's Virtual Kiltwalk

Kiltwalk is an annual event inviting to don a bit of tartan and complete any chosen challenge, from walking, running, cycling, hopping, skipping or jumping on a trampoline, to raise funds for the charity of their choice. This years' Scotland's Virtual Kiltwalk due to the global pandemic will be held in line with socially distanced rules, in dates 23 - 25 April .

Raised funds will be topped up by 50% thanks to Sir Tom Hunter.
