A warm "welcome" to Professor Adam Waldman and Dr Fergus Doubal

The Row Fogo Centre for Research into Ageing and the Brain has welcomed two new Scientific Advisory Board Members.

Professor Adam Waldman and Dr Fergus Doubal have joined the Row Fogo Centre Scientific Advisory Board in March 2021.  This follows the retirement of Professor Ian Marshall - the Row Fogo Centre would like to express deepest gratitude to him for his contributions.

Professor Adam Waldman

Professor Adam Waldman is the Chair of Neuroradiology at The University of Edinburgh. His research involves collaborative development and translation of quantitative and physiological neuroimaging techniques. Main areas of interest are neurooncology, neurodegenerative and neuroinflammatory disease.

Professor Waldman will enhance the work of the Row Fogo Centre scientific direction with his neuroimaging expertise.

Dr Fergus Doubal

Dr Fergus Doubal

Dr Fergus Doubal is a Honorary Senior Lecturer and Consultant Stroke Physician at The University of Edinburgh. His research aims and interests include understanding the pathophysiology of cerebral small vessel disease, developing novel markers to predict dementia and stroke and surrogate markers to use in trials of cerebral small vessel disease by using advanced neuroimaging – MRI and retinal photography to delineate the pathophysiology of cerebral small vessel disease.

Dr Doubal will provide patient liaison for various stroke and SVD studies, and input on patient perspective.
