Welcome to clinical fellow Dr Ingrid Hoeritzauer

Dr Ingrid Hoeritzauer has recently joined CCBS on a clinical fellowship. She will be investigating the "Clinical Features and Prognosis of Scan-negative Uro-Neurological Disorders".

Ingrid Hoeritzauer

We would like to welcome Dr Ingrid Hoeritzauer who has recently joined CCBS with an Association of British Neurologists / Patrick Berthoud Clinical Training Fellowship.

Ingrid is an ST6 in neurology who has been training in neurology in Northern Ireland. She became interested in the borderlands between neurology and psychiatry after completing her intercalated degree in psychology and has been working with Dr Jon Stone and Dr Alan Carson for the last three years.

Ingrid's project, entitled “The Clinical Features and Prognosis of Scan-negative Uro-Neurological Disorders", will focus on understanding more about the outcomes of people with Cauda Equina Syndrome (CES), and investigating patients who have the same CES symptoms but no obvious cause on MRI.

Ingrid will also try to better understand these problems through a study of patients with chronic models of urinary retention, Fowler’s Syndrome and chronic idiopathic urinary retention, in conjunction with the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, London, and the Urology team in Glasgow.

Ingrid will be doing this work over the next three years towards a PhD.
